Over 15 days, the second ever Leeds International Festival attracted more than 20,000 people to Leeds to listen, watch, see, appreciate and get involved in the city-wide celebration of an array of new ideas and innovation.

Festival highlights included a sold-out trip into space with the UK’s first astronaut Helen Sharman, a day of empowering women with inspiring talks and leading debates from names including June Sarpong and Sarah Beeny, the world premiere of the Leeds Rhinos’ story of sacrifice and glory with its sporting legends in attendance, a musical blast back to the past with KAOS Classical Uproar and the playtesting of a brand new interactive adventure, specially curated for the city of Leeds.

A team up with Welcome to Yorkshire and Leeds City Council also saw Millennium Square brought to life as a cultural hub with the Leeds International Festival spiegeltent.
