Hymn by Damien Hirst

2019

Standout sculptures into the city centre

Art came out on the high street as two major sculptures by Damien Hirst went on show in his hometown of Leeds.

Briggate played host to the six metre tall painted bronze sculpture Hymn (1999-2005), while Hirst’s marble Anatomy of an Angel (2008) was on display in the nearby iconic Victoria Quarter.

Both pieces were on show in the city centre for three months as part of the free to see Yorkshire Sculpture International – the UK’s biggest sculpture festival in 2019.
