Circus pops back up in Leeds

Circus pops back up in Leeds

The circus returns to Leeds city centre next month as it pitches back up on Briggate during the Easter holidays.

Would-be acrobats, jugglers and stilt walkers can try their hands at a range of circus skills on offer daily from Saturday 1st-Saturday 15th April 2023.

LeedsBID, in association with The Yorkshire Circus and Open Source Arts, is bringing its own big top to the city’s main pedestrianised area, with children able to watch an assortment of circus skills before having a go themselves – all for free.

Every day there will be circus performance at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm inside the circus tent, before the young members of the audience have the chance to take part in one of three workshops a day, teaching multiple circus skills from spinning and juggling to stilt walking, aerial hoop and trapeze.

Workshops, offering activities for all ages and abilities, run at 11.30am, 1pm and 3.00pm and there will be stilt walkers entertaining the crowds at the weekends.

There is also free candy floss for the first 50 children taking part in the workshops every day between 12-3pm, with deck chairs and picnic tables in the vicinity for people to take a seat to watch the fun.
