Lunchtimes are about to get a whole lot better. LeedsBID’s Summer Roadshow is back — returning for its fifth consecutive year with six locations, three themed activity strands, and more free fun than ever before.
This annual summer event is designed to entice people out of the office and into the heart of Leeds. For the first time, two locations will run simultaneously each day across three weeks, meaning more people than ever can enjoy the outdoor offer on their doorstep.
The activities have had a refresh, now focusing on three distinct themes: Move, Make and Music.
Expect live music, pop-up squash courts, a climbing wall, shoulder and neck massages, windchime painting, colouring murals, crafting workshops, and free food and drink samples — plus the fan favourites that keep people coming back: Nespresso iced coffees and Northern Bloc ice creams, all completely free.
The roadshow takes place across three weeks, with each week pairing two locations running side by side:
Week 1 — 23rd–25th June
Wellington Place & Park Square
Week 2 — 30th June–2nd July
Central Square & Bruntwood West Village
Week 3 — 7th–9th July
Sovereign Square & Aire Park
All events run 12–2pm. Activities vary by day at each location.
Keep an eye out on @LeedsBID social media channels for a day-by-day breakdown of activities.
Whether you fancy getting active, getting creative, or simply soaking up some live music while you eat your lunch, the roadshow has it covered. Highlights this year include:
Move: Pop-up squash courts, a climbing wall, and the return of crazy golf, accompanied with neck and shoulder massages.
Make: Windchime painting, a colouring mural, and a hands-on linocut printing workshop; no experience needed, just curiosity.
Music: Live music bringing an extra buzz to your lunch hour, right in the heart of the city, supplied with picnic blankets, food & drink samples.
Now in its fifth year, the Summer Roadshow has built a loyal following, a reminder that the best break from your desk is the one right outside your door. With six locations across the city centre, and with more to do and discover than ever before.
