The highly anticipated full programme for the Leeds International Festival of Ideas (LIFI23) has been revealed, featuring an impressive line-up of speakers, performers and thinkers from all corners of the world.
This year’s festival, running from September 27th-30th at Leeds Playhouse is the largest to date, featuring five panel chats, six fireside chats, and close to forty speakers.
The latest name to join the captivating list of speakers is renowned actor Christopher Eccleston as the Saturday headliner alongside an array of incredible hosts, including Naga Munchetty, Sarah Powell, Divina De Campo, Lotty Leeming, Anisa Morridadi, and Lisa Holdsworth.
They join an all-star lineup of names from the world of entertainment, politics, business and more such as Steven Bartlett, Ruby Wax OBE, Davina McCall, Dame Prue Leith, Will Young, Cherry Healey, Matt Baker MBE, Bimini, Gemma Whelan, Amber Rudd, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Lauren Mahon, Rob Rinder, Sir Jon Cunliffe, and many more.
Questions and topics to be discussed at the festival include “When will women’s health be taken seriously? Could living The Good Life save the planet? What’s our obsession with true crime? Who does our political system benefit? And How do we talk about grief? with the fireside chats raking in arts and culture, identity, mental health, digital currency, invisible rule of law and the new generation of entrepreneurism.
The festival is also partnering up with North Brewing Co, a renowned local brewery. on the creation of a special festival-inspired beer, offering attendees a unique sensory experience that complements the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
Leeds International Festival of Ideas 2023, is brought to the city by LeedsBID, working in partnership with Leeds Playhouse, Weightmans, Bruntwood and The Hoot as media partners to presents a programme of conversation, connection and curiosity, The four-day event is designed to bring together a diverse group of experts, thought-leaders, and innovators to discuss the most pressing issues facing the world today.
