Showcasing students’ musical talent

Showcasing students’ musical talent

The sound of live music can be heard in the city centre as students are given a platform to showcase their talents as part of the Welcome back to Leeds campaign.

Leeds Conservatoire and Victoria Leeds, supported by LeedsBID (Leeds Business Improvement District), are presenting a programme of live performances featuring students from the conservatoire from Monday, 28th June and run until Sunday 11th July, with at least two emerging artists performing each lunchtime in Victoria Quarter over the two-week period.

The scheduled artists include singer-songwriters, duos, classical musicians and stripped back bands, showcasing the conservatoire’s broad array of adept performers. The programme is inspired by the conservatoire’s Sounds Like THIS festival – an award-winning event dedicated to new and cutting-edge music.

The programme will provide a fantastic opportunity for the region’s next generation of talented musicians to get back on stage, following a break from playing live during the pandemic, all whilst providing the people of Leeds with the opportunity to soak up some culture in the city.

Animating the city centre with live music is a great and entertaining way of welcoming people back to enjoy all Leeds has to offer as well as providing a stage to showcase the diverse talents of some of our budding musicians.

People can enjoy the performances in a special mini auditorium in Victoria Quarter, with event stage and seating area production done by Beautiful Productions, located close to the Briggate entrance, between 12-2pm daily.
