LeedsBID in action helping clean up city centre

Team LeedsBID took time out of the office as part of plans to get businesses more involved in helping to contribute and add value to the city centre.

Senior management and office staff joined the Street Rangers for a special ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) ‘action session’, helping clean up at the Crowne Plaza Leeds, on Wellington Street.

Kitted out by the rangers, the team got to work litter picking, clearing leaves and general tidying up around the premises.

LeedsBID Operations Manager Carmine Ruggiero explained: “These sessions are about stepping out of the workplace and giving a few hours of time to do something which helps to make a different to the local vicinity and community.

“They can be great for strengthening working relationships, helping develop leadership and decision-making skills as well as creativity and problem solving – and can also be fun.”

LeedsBID is working on a programme of activity to encourage city centre businesses to get more involved in helping to contribute and add value to the place they are located in, utilising days of action to positively impact both the local environment and communities.

“A big thank you to LeedsBID for the leaf and litter pick-up outside Crowne Plaza Leeds - you did a wonderful job.” Your support keeps our surroundings looking sharp, and it’s a brilliant (and very seasonal!) example of your ongoing ESG commitment to giving back to the city.
